Now living in Los Angeles, going home for the holidays for me often includes a trip to Washington D.C.!  Wintertime in D.C. is always chilly, but in addition to a driving tour for viewing the city’s iconic historical monuments, like the Washington Monument, there are many indoor experiences where the temperature is warm and toasty!

Stopping by the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History is one of our family favorites, and admission is FREE!

We got to peek at The National Museum of African American History and Culture for the first time as well this year. Although there is limited visiting available now, the official Grand Opening isn’t slated to be until Fall of 2016.

With so much to see and experience, if at all possible the nation’s capital should be on everyone’s “bucket” list!
