Pine Mountain Club, the self-described “nearby faraway place”, IS actually a super cool place to visit. Here’s the thing: you live in the L.A. area and really need a break. You could go coastal, Santa Barbara or San Diego for example, but perhaps you’ve done that already – maybe you’d like to breath some mountain air. Perhaps the reasonable prices draw you — the thing is, there is QUIET; it’s almost like a sound in and of itself when you’ve been living in a traffic-congested city for so long! Friendly people, non-pretentious attitudes… something a person could really gravitate towards! And not to mention, if children are involved, a clubhouse with a game room, a swimming pool, horseback riding, archery, and for the rest of the family a golf course, lounge, etc. Summer weekends offer live music and movies on the “green”. Reasonable prices, a quick drive (an hour to an hour and a half from L.A.), and yet a totally different environment than what we (yes, we bought a cabin!!) are used to! Oh, and the simple Community Church seems just right for a Sunday morning, with a kindly welcome to new peeps of all backgrounds!
