sorrow-drenched knowing

Bullets piercing –
Akron and Bucha

Words ripping –
Los Angeles and Phoenix

Stands not taken in D.C.
Stands taken in Tehran

Protests in Paris
Silence in Xinjiang

The tide of authoritarianism
is not the sea that I seek

The currents of anti-Blackness
are not the waves that I will swim in
