Stazione di Milano Centrale! Welcome to Milano! This train station is one of the coolest – of course, nothing can replace Gare du Nord in Paris as my favorite!
A week since Fashion Week concluded, and still lingering signs – however, Italians are always in style. “Fare bella figura!!”
Amazing Duomo di Milano! Second time I’ve visited, first time I’ve spent over half a day exploring – it’s huge – 2nd or 3rd largest cathedral in Europe!
Visited the Museo del Novecentro near the Duomo on Sat. 9.27.14, and that was the first time I’ve ever been accompanied by a singing security guard as I browsed – pretty sweet : ) P.S. Something in this painting looks familiar – OH YEAH ; ) A statue in the courtyard at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum and Villa in Venice, Italy! Artist = Marino Marini
The top painting is the first Modigliani I’ve paid attention to in person on purpose – yeah, you can blame Midnight in Paris : )
Super Amazing View from the Museo del Novecentro – reminds me of the Adam & the Ants Song, “Ant People”…well, kinda….
YELP.com Does not disappoint – great dinner with friends in Milano!
Breakfast of Champions, Milano : )
@ one of my new favorite art museums! Didn’t know it was there, stumbled onto it in search of some Leonardo notebook pages… SO beautiful inside – and amazing paintings, sculptures and other surprises – one of which will lead me on a quest in Paris in December….
An adventure-minded lass from early on, Georgia Sanders has wandered the U.S. & Europe enough to know that the Schengen Zone is one of her favorite places on the planet!
Upon returning from a 3-month stay in Florence, Italy in 2014, Georgia was inspired through what she calls a “personal renaissance” to found THIS online travel & culture magazine CultureHoney.com!
Dreams of Paris always at the top of mind, the Celtic Christian spirituality developed in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England has been winning her heart in recent years.
An outgrowth from the magazine is the recently launched CultureHoneyTouring.com. The maiden voyages for this new venture are small group pilgrimages to Sacred Ireland and Iona, Scotland!
Georgia hopes that many Culture Honey readers will be inspired to join in these journeys, commencing in September 2021!
Jesse Owens was an African American track athlete who won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. His story is significant because, in 1936, Europe was on the brink of World War II. Nazi Germany, under Adolf Hitler, hosted the Berlin Olympics with the intent of showcasing its ideology of Aryan racial superiority. However, the Games became notable for challenging this propaganda. Jesse Owens’ victories directly contradicted Nazi racial theories and highlighted the absurdity of racial discrimination.
