It was a brief visit. Eurostar from Paris to London for two nights and three days to join special friends from California. London scenes, London skies, London Tower, London Eye(s) were the subjects of our attention. As an added cultural treat, we took in another highlight. We attended the clever, uplifting, extraordinary and delightful London performance of Kinky Boots. The entire visit was iconic London…
The nickname Big Ben, given to the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, is often extended to include the clock and the clock tower.
The Tower of London, Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress, is an historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London.
Royal Guards, Tower of London
Yeoman Warder of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress at the Tower of London. Members of the Sovereign’s Body Guard of the Yeoman Guard, more commonly known as Beefeaters, guide free public tours.
Tower Bridge, a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, crosses the River Thames near the Tower of London, and has become an iconic symbol of London.
Sun-sparkled City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority, which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge.
Sun-drenched Shard, a skyscraper in Southwark, London. Standing 309.6 metres above ground level, it is the tallest building in Europe as of July 2012.
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, its official name was originally published as the British Airways London Eye. I heard the top height is one of the top ten favorites for engagements. (Be fairly certain the response will be affirmative, gentlemen; it is a fifteen minute slow ride down).
Evening view of the City Hall accompanied by stunning September skies
The moment when a soaring gull and the clock striking four is simply just right. Tea time, is it then ?
